Madden 26: Top 10 Receivers (Including Tight Ends) – Ultimate Guide

Welcome, boys. Today we are doing the top 10 wide receivers, but I am switching it up. We are including tight ends because tight ends are simply better than wide receivers in Madden 26 right now. Golden Ticket tight ends are outperforming Golden Ticket wide receivers, and if you want to afford these elite cards for your squad, you may need to buy Madden 26 coins to build the necessary budget. I am running all three of my receiver spots with tight ends out of position. Let me show you the best cards in the game.

A Quick Note on Out-of-Position Tight Ends

You cannot audible around as much when using tight ends at wide receiver. However, most players do not rely heavily on audibles anyway. The trade-off is absolutely worth it for the superior stats and abilities.

The Top 10

Number 10 – Zakius (Theme Surge)

Zakius is the only Theme Surge card that gets Yak 'Em Up. Among all the big-name Theme Surge 99s (Adun Jay Jetta, Lad Maconi, etc.), he is the only one with this ability. He also gets Max Security.

99 base speed

Short stature, but abilities are king in Madden

Four very good theme team options

Verdict: A sleeper card. He is not a big name, so many players will overlook him. Do not make that mistake.

Number 9 – Golden Ticket Patrick Paul (Out of Position)

The big fellas last year had glitch spins. That is gone this year. To run super crisp routes consistently, your player needs to be under 247 pounds. Patrick Paul and other big guys run good routes inconsistently. Sometimes you get the "fat guy shuffle" – a slow, clunky turn that kills your play.

Abilities & X-Factors:

Yak 'Em Up

Route Tech

Moss (mid, but usable)

Golden tickets get everything for zero AP

The negative: Movement and route consistency.

The positive: He breaks a ton of tackles and is fun after the catch.

Number 8 – Jameus Winston (Golden Ticket)

Jameus "Swinston" is under the weight limit while also being tall. He gets all the Golden Ticket buckets you need.

Why he beats Patrick Paul: Simply a better build. Better movement. He runs routes cleanly and consistently fried for me.

Abilities:

Short Route

Yak 'Em Up

Max Security (must-have)

Legend X-Factors available

All zero-AP abilities

Verdict: A great card. Take less height if it means better movement.

Number 7 – Frank Crum (Tight End / Golden Ticket)

Our first tight end on the list. Frank Crum is 6'8" and 315 lbs, but he has a skinnier in-game build. He still runs inconsistent routes like any big guy, but his speed boosting is elite.

Why tight ends are better than wide receivers: Wide receivers cannot get Vanguard. Tight ends can. Frank Crum gets Vanguard, Yak 'Em Up, and Max Security all together.

Build: 99 speed, 99 everything. Skinnier build than you would expect.

Verdict: One of my best cards all year. I run him at tight end, but I have used him at receiver. The only reason he is lower on this list is route inconsistency against blitzes on timing plays.

Number 6 – Big Jerry (Jerry Rice)

I used Jerry for an entire stream before recording this. He is amazing.

Stats: 6'2" (great height), 99 in every stat including change of direction. 98 before boosts, but height boosts are easy to apply.

Why he stands out: Perfect build. Not too tiny, not too tall. One of the best after-catch movements in the game. He runs consistent routes and breaks tackles consistently.

Abilities: Moss (mid), Yak 'Em Up built-in. You can put any X-Factors you need on him. I just throw on Max Security and go.

Verdict: I will take no Vanguard in exchange for a wide receiver who runs consistent routes and dominates after the catch, especially if you have mastered the speed boost.

Number 5 – Big Mike Evans (Golden Ticket)

Mike Evans is 6'5" and 230 lbs. The only negative for Golden Ticket wide receivers is that they do not get Vanguard.

Why Vanguard matters: On a drag route, your other receivers downfield will pancake corners, leading to free touchdowns.

Abilities: Yak 'Em Up, Double Me, Moss. This card was made before everyone knew about Max Security, so do not hold that against it.

Verdict: Great abilities. The only thing missing is Vanguard. Some players do not care about that.

Number 4 – Ed "Ed Tall" (Tight End / LTD)

6'9". Ridiculous. He is above the weight limit, so he can be clunky at times. This is not like last year where tall guys were simply superior to everyone else.

The intangibles: He is a giant with insane built-ins. Vanguard, Double Me, and the X-Factor bucket so you can run Yak 'Em Up as well.

What he does:

Pancakes people

Aggs people (aggressive catches)

Breaks tackles

Theme teams: He gets every theme team boost. Do not worry about the 98 speed – he gets boosted to 99.

Verdict: One of the cheapest LTDs in the game relative to how good he is. A lot of players are sleeping on him.

Number 3 – Randy Moss (Golden Ticket)

Randy Moss is the best build you can make. He was a freak in real life and a freak in Madden. Tall and skinny – that is the perfect combination.

Movement: He is one of the three easiest cards to speed boost with (along with Dion and Vic). EA juices these players – they all move differently. The 99 change of direction helps.

Missing Max Security: Nobody knew about Max Security when this card was made. Just throw it on in the bucket. No problem.

Verdict: Still the most expensive Golden Ticket receiver in the game. He is a prize possession and worth every coin.

Number 2 – Johnny Wilson

Numbers 1 and 2 are interchangeable – 1A and 1B. Johnny Wilson is 6'7" while being under the weight limit. That is arguably the best build in the game.

The stats: 99 speed, top-tier route running, insane run blocking, great change of direction.

The abilities (this is why tight ends matter):

Yak 'Em Up

Rack 'Em Up

Vanguard

Max Security (final bucket)

That is five X-Factors. Many players also run Legend TR on him to prevent fumbles.

Verdict: A stupidly good card. You can absolutely argue him over number one.

Number 1 – Taw (Tol)

I have had more success with Taw's route running than anyone else.

The build: 6'6", 220 lbs (17 lbs lighter than Johnny). 90 strength vs. 84. 99 change of direction. He is like a taller Randy Moss – a crazy skinny build.

Abilities: Yak 'Em Up, Vanguard, and you can run Max Security in the bucket. He went Secure Protector over Rack 'Em Up (Rack 'Em Up is not really needed if you have Max Security).

Why he is number one: He runs routes like a small guy. He is super tall, super skinny, and moves like someone half his size.

Verdict: One of my favorite cards in the game right now.

Final Thoughts

I included tight ends because the bottom three or four wide receivers on the standard list looked weak. Tight ends are simply some of the best cards in Madden 26, and many players are running them out of position anyway.

The key takeaway: If you want the best receiving corps, look past the wide receiver position. Tight ends like Frank Crum, Ed Tall, Johnny Wilson, and Taw give you Vanguard plus elite receiving abilities. That combination is unbeatable.
