Quick Bow-Rapier Build Guide in New World: Aeternum

Dec-24-2025 PST Category: New World

Hey, fellow adventurers! I'm excited to share my quick guide to the Bow + Rapier build in New World. This build is perfect for players who enjoy a combination of ranged and melee combat, offering devastating damage output while maintaining high mobility. If you're looking to complement this build further, you might consider ways to improve your gear or skills by investing in resources, including the option to buy New World Coins. Let's get started!

Gear Setup

Armor

For my armor, I opted for a heavy-wear setup designed for survivability and damage mitigation. Here’s what I’ve equipped:

· Heels: Enchanted Wart Shing Heels with a Refreshing Penot perk for cooldown reduction.

· Gloves: Light gloves with Enchanted Ward, Shirking Heels, and Refreshing to maximize damage output and recovery.

· Legs: Light leg wear with Enchanted Ward, Slash Conditioning, and Pen Rapid Shot. Although I’m not using Pen Shot currently, it’s a solid option for flexibility.

Weapons

· Rapier: I’m using the Hoplight Rapier with Distained Inflection, Sundering Repost, and Kely Jacket. This setup focuses on agility and countering enemy attacks.

· Bow: My bow of choice is the Bolt Caster, enhanced with Plate Crits for powerful shots.

Jewelry

1. Amulet: Equipped with Alchemist's Reprieve, Protection, and Health bonuses for survivability.

2. Ring: Featuring Healing Breeze, Lightning Damage, and Hardy perks for extra utility.

3. Earring: Currently using the Endless Thirst, offering Empowering Toast, Fortifying Toast, and Regenerating perks. I’m still evaluating this earring since it focuses on healing over time rather than instant healing, which I prefer.

Attributes Breakdown

Here’s how my attributes are set up:

· 377 Dexterity: Maximizes damage output with both Bow and Rapier.

· 150 Intelligence: Provides additional magical damage, complementing my abilities.

· 128 Constitution: Boosting survivability, though I'm aiming for 150 in the future.

My ideal distribution would be 350 Dex, 150 Int, and 150 Con. Although I’m currently using magnified gear, I can feel pretty tanky while playing bow, so it’s manageable for now.

Skill Trees

Bow Skills

1. Explosive Shot: A fantastic ability for dealing AoE damage and inflicting burns on enemies.

2. Evade Shot: This controversial skill is a lifesaver in tight situations, especially in arenas, as it staggers attacking melee foes.

3. Rapid Shot: A triple-arrow shot that can deliver a substantial amount of damage if all hit.

Rapier Skills

I’ve invested in the following skills from the Grace tree:

· On Guard and Refreshing Strikes for additional abilities.

· Flesh and Evade for utility and dodging.

· Repost: Use wisely when you predict an opponent’s attack to maximize its effectiveness.

Optional Weapons

Sometimes, I switch to a spear for variety. Here’s my spear skill tree:

· Javelin: Exceptional for CC and controlling matches.

· Skewer: Mainly for mobility in fights.

If I want to experiment further, I also enjoy using the hatchet, using its leaping attacks and Social Distancing ability for crowd control.

I understand that aesthetics matter! If you’re curious about my transmog and how I achieved this look, don’t hesitate to ask in the comments.
